Permira, the global investment firm, has appointed Mark Solomons as a Senior Adviser, bringing over three decades of experience in global M&A, finance, and digital marketplaces to its advisory network. Solomons will play a key role in supporting strategic M&A and value creation initiatives across Permira’s global portfolio, with an emphasis on the consumer sector.
Solomons brings a broad background in e-commerce and investment leadership, having served in senior board and executive positions across multiple international technology and marketplace businesses. He currently serves as Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board at Catawiki, a Permira-backed company, and has previously held board positions at Adevinta, OLX Brazil, Apollo Korea (Gmarket), and Distilled Media Group.
His career also includes executive roles at eBay, where he served as Vice President of Corporate and Business Development and Vice President of Strategic Investments, overseeing global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and investment activities. Earlier, he spent nearly twenty years in investment banking with Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan, leading several high-profile technology transactions.
Permira’s Co-CEO and Co-Managing Partner, Dipan Patel, noted that the firm has already witnessed Solomons’ strategic impact through prior collaboration on Adevinta, a joint investment with eBay. His appointment reflects Permira’s continued focus on enhancing portfolio performance and delivering value to investors through strategic M&A.
