Cloud content management company Box announced recently that it appointed Peter Leav to its board of directors effective immediately following the conclusion of the 2019 Annual Meeting of Stockholders in June. And U.S. Venture Partners and a long-standing Box Board member Steven Krausz is stepping down from the board following the conclusion of the 2019 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

“Box has a tremendous opportunity to capture a $40 billion market and pioneer a new category in Cloud Content Management,” said Leav. “I’m thrilled to bring my experience managing global technology companies and working with leaders to drive growth and consistently deliver value for customers to the exceptional team at Box.”

Box now works with 70% of the Fortune 500. Some of the company’s customers include AstraZeneca, General Electric, Nationwide, and P&G.

Leav was previously the president and CEO of BMC Software and the President and CEO of Polycom. And Leav was previously the EVP and president of Industry and Field Operations at NCR Corporation. He also worked as the Corporate Vice president and General Manager of the enterprise business in North America, Latin America and EMEA at Motorola. Earlier in Leav’s career, he held executive sales leadership positions at Symbol Technologies and Cisco Systems. Before that, he received a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University.

“Peter brings years of deep industry expertise successfully scaling and leading multi-billion dollar enterprise technology businesses, and will be a fantastic addition to our Board of Directors,” added Box co-founder and CEO Aaron Levie. “Over the last year, we’ve added extensive experience to our board with the appointments of Sue Barsamian, Kim Hammonds, and now, Peter. Their collective expertise leading global companies, driving strategic vision, and executing with operational rigor will be invaluable to Box as we continue to scale and grow.”

Krausz first became involved with Box when U.S. Venture Partners led the company’s Series B round in 2008 and he started serving on the company’s board in 2013. Box also has an ongoing search for one or more new directors underway.
