Pexco Acquires Recto Molded Products And Legacy Extrusions

Pexco has acquired Recto Molded Products and Legacy Extrusions, expanding its complex injection molding, tooling, assembly and thermoplastic extrusion capabilities for original equipment manufacturers.

The Cincinnati-based businesses add more than a century of manufacturing experience to Pexco’s engineered plastics platform.

The transaction expands Pexco’s injection molding capabilities to include additional engineered and commodity thermoplastics alongside the company’s existing fluoropolymer and ultra-high-performance polymer capabilities.

Recto Molded Products was founded in 1919 and operates injection molding presses ranging from 55 to 500 tons.

The company produces complex molded components and provides engineering support, tooling, secondary assembly and finishing services.

Its customers operate across markets including warehouse automation, conveying systems, inventory management systems, building and construction products and other industrial applications.

Recto’s capabilities include injection molding, tooling, design-for-manufacturing support, prototyping, machining, assembly, pad printing, hot stamping, finishing and custom packaging.

Legacy Extrusions has manufactured custom profile extrusions since 1996 and provides products across a range of shapes and sizes along with value-added manufacturing services.

The acquisitions give Pexco another full-service tool room and additional tooling capabilities while increasing its secondary assembly and finishing capacity.

Pexco expects the combination to strengthen its ability to support customers throughout a product’s lifecycle, from initial design and prototyping through tooling, molding, assembly and full-scale production.

Atlanta-based Pexco manufactures engineered plastic components, custom plastic extrusions, injection-molded products, tubing, pipe and specialty polymer solutions.

Its products are used across industrial manufacturing, aerospace, semiconductors, data centers, medical and life sciences, oil and gas, traffic safety and electrical insulation markets.

Pexco has more than 600 employees and operates multiple manufacturing facilities across North America.

The company said it continues to pursue acquisitions that expand its engineered plastics capabilities, manufacturing technologies, end-market expertise and geographic reach.
