P&G To Acquire Thorne For $3.8 Billion To Expand Science-Backed Health And Wellness Portfolio

Procter & Gamble has announced plans to acquire Thorne, a science-driven wellness company known for dietary supplements and personalized health solutions supported by healthcare practitioners, for $3.8 billion in cash.

The proposed acquisition would add Thorne to P&G’s Health Care portfolio and expand the consumer products company’s presence in self-care, preventive health and personalized wellness.

P&G said consumer demand is growing for health products that combine scientific support, product quality and practitioner credibility. Thorne’s supplement portfolio and personalized wellness capabilities are intended to help P&G address that shift.

Thorne offers products across several health and wellness categories, including whey protein isolate, creatine, electrolytes and nutritional supplements.

The company has developed a reputation among consumers, healthcare practitioners and professional partners through its focus on scientific research, product quality and innovation.

P&G believes these characteristics complement its existing Health Care business and its broader strategy of helping consumers manage everyday health and well-being.

Following the acquisition, P&G plans to expand the availability of Thorne’s science-backed wellness solutions while continuing to invest in the quality, credibility and product development that have supported the brand’s growth.

The transaction would also give P&G a stronger position in the personalized health market, where consumers are increasingly seeking products and recommendations tailored to their individual wellness goals.

Thorne’s relationships with healthcare practitioners could provide P&G with an additional channel for reaching consumers who prioritize professional guidance when selecting supplements and other wellness products.

P&G did not disclose the financial terms of the proposed transaction.

The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. P&G expects the transaction to close later in calendar year 2026.
