Phia, the AI-powered shopping platform founded by Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni, announced that it has closed an oversubscribed $35.5 million Series A financing round. The company also revealed a roster of more than 30 celebrity, fashion, entertainment, and technology investors backing the business as it scales its personalized shopping platform. The round builds on a previously announced financing led by Notable Capital, Khosla Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins and brings the company’s total funding to $43.5 million.
The investor group includes Khloé Kardashian, Alix Earle, Alexandre Arnault, Mindy Kaling, Karlie Kloss, Jessica Alba, Ashley Graham, Jay Shetty, Wendi Murdoch, Amy Griffin, Chriselle Lim, Bobbi Brown, Sophia Amoruso, Rachel Zoe, Winnie Harlow, The Chainsmokers, Lori Harvey, Leila Hormozi, Ice Spice, Gunna, Eileen Gu, Sydney Sweeney, Paris Hilton, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and several prominent technology executives and founders including Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, Meta executive Naomi Gleit, Ariel Investments President Mellody Hobson, OpenAI’s Charles Porch, and ElevenLabs co-founder Mati Staniszewski.
Founded in 2025, Phia operates an AI-powered shopping platform and browser extension that helps consumers discover products, compare prices, find resale alternatives, and make more informed purchasing decisions. The company says its platform scans more than 350 million products across nearly 10,000 retail brand partners spanning contemporary, resale, and luxury categories.
According to the company, Phia has grown to more than 1.5 million users within approximately one year of launch. The company also reports generating more than one billion views across its platforms and building a social community of 2.7 million followers. Phia says its recommendation technology has contributed to a 50% reduction in return rates while helping shoppers identify better prices and alternatives across retail channels.
The celebrity investor announcement was made through a LinkedIn post by co-founder Phoebe Gates and follows media appearances discussing the company’s growth and investor base. The company said the investor roster reflects its belief that shopping discovery is increasingly influenced by culture, creators, and trusted tastemakers.
Phia plans to use the funding to continue expanding its AI shopping infrastructure and personalized commerce tools as it pursues what it describes as the future of AI-driven shopping experiences.
