Pictet Alternative Advisors announced the successful final close of Monte Rosa Co-Investments VI, raising $1.53 billion in committed capital and significantly surpassing its initial $1.0 billion target. The oversubscribed fund marks the sixth vintage in Pictet’s private equity co-investment franchise and is the largest fund raised in the series to date.

The latest vehicle represents more than a 50% increase in size compared with Monte Rosa Co-Investments V, which closed with $900 million in commitments in 2023. The fundraising highlights continued investor demand for private equity co-investment opportunities and reflects confidence in Pictet’s sourcing, execution, and investment capabilities.

Monte Rosa Co-Investments VI will primarily focus on buyout transactions while selectively pursuing growth and venture investments. The fund is expected to deploy capital over a three-year investment period and is targeting a portfolio of approximately 25 to 30 co-investments across North America and Europe, with selective exposure to Asia. Approximately 40% of committed capital has already been deployed across 14 transactions.

The fund attracted capital from a globally diversified investor base that includes insurance companies, pension funds, family offices, and private clients across Europe, Asia, and North America. Both existing investors and new clients participated in the fundraising process.

Pictet said its extensive network of private equity sponsor relationships provides access to differentiated investment opportunities and supports the construction of diversified portfolios spanning sectors such as technology, healthcare, industrials, and consumer. The firm has been active in private equity investing since 1989 and completed its first co-investment in 1992.

Over the past 15 years, Pictet has completed more than 210 co-investments representing $3.2 billion of invested capital. Across 64 realized co-investments, the firm reports a multiple on invested capital (MOIC) of 3.1x.

KEY QUOTE:

“The successful close of Monte Rosa Co-Investments VI reflects both the growing demand for co-investments and Pictet’s proven track record in the strategy, with a MOIC of 3.1x across 64 realised co-investments. In today’s environment, investors are increasingly seeking direct exposure to high-quality assets. Our longstanding relationships with leading private equity sponsors enable us to source differentiated opportunities and deploy capital selectively and at scale.”
