Pinsent Masons appointed James Quirke as a partner to lead its corporate tax team in Dublin. Quirke joins the multinational law firm from McCann FitzGerald, where he became a partner in 2024.
In addition to being a solicitor, Quirke is a chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor.
His practice covers a broad range of corporate tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border tax planning, and domestic and international corporate restructurings.
Quirke also advises on employment-related taxes, tax matters arising from insolvency, property-related tax issues, and the tax implications of conducting business in and from Ireland.
Pinsent Masons said the appointment strengthens its Dublin offering as corporate tax planning and compliance become increasingly complex for both multinational companies operating in Ireland and Irish businesses with international operations.
The firm highlighted the implementation of the OECD Pillar Two regime as an important development affecting clients with cross-border structures.
Quirke will support domestic and international clients seeking to manage tax compliance and structure their organizations efficiently.
Pinsent Masons established its Dublin office in 2017 and has since expanded its full-service offering for businesses operating in Ireland and internationally.
