Pioneer Power Solutions: $6 Million PRYMUS Award Secured From Major National Logistics Customer

Pioneer Power Solutions announced that it secured a $6 million award for two of its PRYMUS distributed generation systems from one of the nation’s largest package delivery companies. The systems are expected to provide prime power to two separate transit hubs, with delivery scheduled for the second half of 2026.

The award marks an early commercial milestone for PRYMUS, Pioneer’s Energy-at-the-Edge platform that officially launched in December 2025. The company said the deployment highlights increasing demand for scalable and rapidly deployable distributed power systems as AI-driven compute demand rises and utility interconnection timelines continue to lengthen.

The deployments are expected to include eight paralleled 400 kW natural gas engine sets, two 480 kW battery energy storage systems, along with switchgear, electrical controls, and remote monitoring systems. Pioneer plans to deliver the systems on trailers, enabling rapid deployment and allowing customers to relocate the units to other sites if needed.

PRYMUS was designed to provide pre-engineered distributed power blocks ranging from 1 MW to 10 MW. According to the company, the platform can be deployed and operational within approximately six months, compared to the typical two- to three-year timeline often associated with securing utility-grade power infrastructure.

Pioneer noted that PRYMUS is designed to support modular data centers, AI compute infrastructure, industrial automation, and on-premise processing environments in sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, finance, research institutions, and government agencies. The company added that the platform addresses growing challenges tied to utility interconnection delays and limited on-site power availability.

In addition to PRYMUS, Pioneer operates multiple energy-focused platforms, including PowerCore for distributed energy and infrastructure solutions and e-Boost, its mobile EV charging portfolio.

KEY QUOTE:

“This $6 million PRYMUS award is an important milestone for our Energy-at-the-Edge platform and reflects early commercial traction. We only officially introduced PRYMUS five months ago, so receiving this award from a premier national customer represents to us validation of both the market opportunity and the strength of our solution. From what we are seeing in the market, as AI-driven compute demand accelerates and utility interconnection timelines continue to extend, customers increasingly need scalable power solutions they can deploy quickly. That is what PRYMUS was designed to deliver. Just as importantly, the level of inbound interest, pipeline activity and quoting we are now seeing has exceeded our expectations, supporting our prospects for 2027 and 2028.”
