Plan A Technologies Acquires AI Assessment Technology To Expand Technical M&A Due Diligence

Plan A Technologies has acquired a stealth AI assessment tool designed to strengthen its technical M&A due diligence capabilities.

Plan A, which provides AI and software engineering services and technology advisory capabilities, said the proprietary technology will help its teams analyze complex technology environments more quickly and identify risks, patterns and opportunities that traditional assessment tools may miss.

The company works with private equity firms, strategic acquirers, enterprises and private investors evaluating technology-intensive transactions.

Its technical due diligence work assesses areas including the quality of underlying technology, scalability, integration complexity, modernization requirements, security risks and the level of investment that may be required after an acquisition closes.

The newly acquired technology adds an AI-powered analytical layer to Plan A’s existing approach, which includes expert interviews, manual code reviews, architecture analysis, documentation reviews and commercial code-scanning products.

Plan A expects the technology to be particularly useful for evaluating large and fragmented technology ecosystems and identifying patterns or anomalies that conventional approaches may overlook.

The tool’s creator, Serhii Melnychuk, has joined Plan A Technologies as an architect and will lead its integration and future development.

The acquisition fits within a broader strategy of building and acquiring proprietary technology to augment Plan A’s engineers, architects, data specialists and technology advisors.

Beyond M&A due diligence, Plan A develops custom software, proprietary AI agents and agentic systems, modernizes legacy applications, builds data platforms, manages cloud migrations and integrates enterprise systems.

The company has completed more than 500 product deployments worldwide.

KEY QUOTES:

“Good technical due diligence isn’t about producing a longer list of issues. It’s about distinguishing ordinary, fixable technical debt from something that can fundamentally change the cost or risk profile of a transaction. We help our clients to understand what is really happening underneath the surface of a technology platform and translate that into business implications. Technical due diligence has traditionally relied on expert interviews, manual code review, architecture analysis, documentation, and commercially available code scanning tools. Plan A will continue to use all of those approaches, but this new technology will help us analyze exceptionally large and fragmented technology ecosystems with greater speed and consistency while looking for patterns or anomalies that conventional approaches may miss. AI is not a substitute for senior technical judgment. The advantage comes from combining AI with people who have spent years building, scaling, fixing, integrating, and evaluating real production systems. That combination allows us to ask better questions and give our clients a more complete picture of what they’re actually buying.”

Slav Kulik, Co-Founder of Plan A Technologies

“I wanted to build something that could help experts do their job more effectively and connect signals scattered across different systems. It’s incredibly exciting to see how Plan A integrated my tool into its broader approach and is bringing it to clients around the world.”
