PlayPower, an outdoor recreation and living systems company, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BCI Burke, a manufacturer of commercial playground equipment. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Huntersville, North Carolina, PlayPower designs and manufactures playground systems, recreational equipment, and related outdoor solutions serving schools, parks and recreation departments, commercial and industrial facilities, residential communities, marine environments, and hospitality venues. The company maintains manufacturing and distribution facilities across North America and Europe.
BCI Burke, based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, designs and manufactures play environments for parks, schools, early childhood centers, and residential communities. The company has operated for more than 100 years and has built a national network of independent sales representatives, along with a differentiated manufacturing approach and an established brand presence.
The acquisition is aimed at expanding PlayPower’s product portfolio and strengthening its position in the commercial playground equipment market. PlayPower was acquired by private equity firm Platinum Equity in October 2025, and the firm is supporting the company’s continued growth and platform expansion strategy.
Lincoln International is serving as financial advisor to PlayPower in the transaction, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is acting as legal counsel.
