PlayVS, a scholastic and collegiate esports platform, announced it has acquired LeagueSpot, a global esports league and tournament management platform, to strengthen its technology capabilities and accelerate international expansion.
The acquisition enhances PlayVS’s infrastructure with enterprise-grade league operations and competition management tools, enabling more scalable and flexible competition formats. These include white-label leagues and automated tournament operations designed to support partners, publishers, and educational institutions worldwide.
PlayVS currently supports competitive gaming across thousands of schools and engages more than 200,000 students annually, offering a structured pathway from high school to college esports. The addition of LeagueSpot’s technology is expected to deepen PlayVS’s ability to manage complex, multi-region competitions while expanding its reach beyond North America.
LeagueSpot brings extensive experience in operating international esports ecosystems and has previously collaborated with the PlayVS College League, helping deliver structured collegiate competitions across the U.S. and globally. Its customer base has included organizations such as Epic Charter Schools, Gallaudet University, Boys & Girls Clubs, and the YMCA.
As part of the transaction, LeagueSpot CEO Andrew Barnett will join PlayVS to help lead global strategy and drive international growth initiatives. LeagueSpot’s technology and team will be integrated into the PlayVS platform to support expanded global competition and new partnership opportunities.
The combined platform is positioned to serve a broader range of stakeholders, including schools, universities, publishers, and esports organizations, with a focus on scalable, inclusive, and structured competitive gaming ecosystems.
