p°Motion Raises Series A To Expand AI-Powered Predictive Movement Health Platform

p°Motion, a Los Angeles-based movement intelligence and predictive health technology company, has announced a Series A financing led by Cobalt Capital. The financing builds on support from a broader investor group, including WME Group, Nimble Ventures, Canaan Ventures, Soul Ventures, and strategic investors connected to professional sports, technology, and institutional capital.

The investment will support the expansion of its artificial intelligence capabilities, engineering organization, and commercial partnerships as the company seeks to bring its movement assessment technology beyond professional sports into healthcare and consumer applications.

The company did not disclose the total amount raised in the Series A round or its valuation.

Founded in 2019, p°Motion is developing a platform intended to identify movement patterns associated with injury risk and provide personalized programs to improve biomechanics and physical performance.

Its technology is based on a proprietary assessment methodology developed through more than 40 years of human movement research and work with elite athletes.

The company has incorporated machine learning and artificial intelligence into that methodology to develop software that evaluates the structural foundations of human movement.

Rather than focusing exclusively on improving an athlete’s existing movement mechanics, p°Motion aims to identify underlying biomechanical inefficiencies that may contribute to injury risk.

Its platform analyzes how individuals move and generates personalized corrective programs designed to improve movement quality, support performance, and reduce potential injury risk.

According to the company, its technology can identify certain injury risks as much as 18 months before an injury occurs.

That predictive capability is a company-reported claim. The announcement does not provide independent clinical validation data, sensitivity or specificity measurements, or published trial results establishing the system’s predictive performance across broader patient populations.

The company says dozens of championship teams have used its underlying methodology and that professional athletes and coaches across Major League Baseball and other professional sports organizations use its technology.

Its next phase of growth will focus on expanding access to the technology beyond elite athletic environments.

The company sees potential applications among individuals recovering from injuries, people seeking to improve their movement and reduce discomfort, and consumers interested in maintaining long-term physical health.

The Series A funding will support the expansion of p°Motion’s engineering and AI teams, allowing the company to continue developing its proprietary movement intelligence platform.

It will also accelerate partnerships across professional sports and healthcare while providing additional resources for commercial growth.

The company’s long-term objective is to make movement assessment and personalized corrective programming more accessible through a scalable technology platform.

Historically, evaluating the biomechanical patterns associated with potential injuries has required specialized practitioners and extensive hands-on expertise.

p°Motion is seeking to translate that knowledge into software that can deliver personalized assessments and recommendations to a broader audience.

The company’s approach focuses on identifying movement-related risk factors before an injury occurs rather than relying exclusively on treatment and rehabilitation after an injury.

For healthcare applications, the platform could provide additional information to practitioners evaluating movement limitations and developing corrective programs, although the company has not disclosed specific regulatory clearances or clinical implementation arrangements.

As it expands, p°Motion intends to develop partnerships that connect its movement intelligence technology with organizations serving both athletic and general healthcare populations.

The investment from Cobalt Capital and its existing investor group will provide additional resources to develop these capabilities while supporting the company’s broader commercial strategy.

KEY QUOTES:

“Our vision is simple: injuries shouldn’t be inevitable. Most of healthcare still responds to injury after it happens. p°Motion is building the platform that predicts and prevents it, and in doing so, we’re defining a new category of predictive movement health. We’ve proven our model with the most competitive and demanding athletes in the world. This financing allows us to scale it, expanding our AI capabilities and bringing p°Motion into healthcare and everyday life, so anyone who moves can stay ahead of injury.”

Jason Woo, CEO of p°Motion

“For decades, recognizing the movement patterns that lead to injury required years of hands-on expertise, which meant only a small number of elite athletes ever benefited from it. p°Motion changes that. The platform applies the same method relied on by championship teams to anyone, anywhere, identifying risk long before pain or injury appears and giving each person a clear, personalized path to correct it.”

Dr. Keith Pyne, Founder of p°Motion

“p°Motion’s growth and innovative strategy within sports and health are key components to Cobalt Capital’s decision to participate in this fundraise.”
