Podium, a software company providing artificial intelligence tools for local businesses, has surpassed $150 million in AI-specific annual recurring revenue (ARR), reaching the milestone approximately two and a half years after expanding into AI agents. The company said its original software business required eight years to reach the same revenue level, illustrating the faster growth of its newer AI-focused offerings.
Founded in 2014, Podium provides software designed to help local businesses manage customer communications, generate leads, schedule appointments, and increase revenue.
Approximately three years ago, the company began restructuring its technology platform around AI agents capable of performing operational tasks traditionally handled by employees.
The resulting products are designed to answer customer calls, respond to sales inquiries, schedule appointments, conduct follow-up communications, and identify opportunities to generate additional business.
Rather than functioning exclusively as conversational assistants, Podium’s AI agents are integrated with operational software so they can initiate and complete tasks across business workflows.
The company currently has more than 20,000 AI agents deployed across its customer base. According to Podium, its technology has helped participating businesses generate more than $13 billion in revenue.
Podium is concentrating its AI platform on several industries, including automotive dealerships, home services, aesthetics, and healthcare.
For home service providers, the company is developing an AI-native field service management system designed for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractors, plumbers, electricians, and garage door service businesses.
The system integrates AI agents with scheduling, technician dispatch, and customer management functions, enabling service providers to coordinate appointments and field operations while identifying additional revenue opportunities.
In aesthetics, Podium has introduced an electronic medical record system intended to help practices manage patient information, schedule treatments, and encourage repeat visits.
The software connects AI-driven customer interactions with patient management processes, supporting administrative tasks and ongoing engagement.
Within the automotive industry, Podium’s AI agents are designed to help dealerships convert customer inquiries into test drives, schedule vehicle service appointments, and encourage customers to return for future purchases or maintenance.
These capabilities reflect the company’s strategy of building industry-specific software around AI agents instead of positioning AI as a separate feature within traditional business applications.
By connecting agents directly to scheduling systems, customer records, and other operational tools, Podium aims to enable automation across workflows that involve both customer communications and internal business processes.
The company’s growth also reflects increasing interest among local businesses in using AI to support customer service and sales activities, particularly during periods when employees are unavailable or dealing with other responsibilities.
Podium’s AI agents are intended to provide continuous responsiveness while allowing businesses to automate routine interactions and concentrate employee time on higher-value activities.
The company has received industry recognition for its AI implementation capabilities, including awards and acknowledgments from Inc. Magazine and G2.
With AI-specific ARR exceeding $150 million, Podium is continuing to expand its technology across industries where customer responsiveness, appointment conversion, and operational efficiency are important contributors to revenue growth.
KEY QUOTE:
“We effectively started a second startup inside an already successful company. In the age of AI, you can either disrupt your own company or wait for somebody else to do it. I’d rather do it ourselves.”
Eric Rea, CEO Of Podium
