Polycorp, a portfolio company of Arsenal Capital Partners, has acquired Iron Horse Engineering Co., a rail-industry specialist known for inventing the original rail boot and for its embedded track technologies, as Polycorp looks to expand its rail product lineup and engineering capabilities.
The companies said the combination brings together complementary technologies and rail product portfolios while expanding geographic reach and customer support. Polycorp plans to integrate Iron Horse’s embedded track expertise and in-house engineering resources with its own elastomer-based offerings to deliver more comprehensive solutions across light- and heavy-rail applications worldwide.
Iron Horse, founded in 1987, has built its reputation on durable, field-proven products that lower total lifecycle costs for rail projects. Polycorp, which serves multiple end markets including aerospace, defense, energy, mineral processing, and rail, said the deal strengthens its ability to support rail customers with broader design, project support, and service resources.
Polycorp said operations and service agreements will continue without interruption and that customers, partners, and employees should expect a seamless transition.
