PPG and the PPG Foundation announced they invested $18.1 million in communities worldwide in 2025, supporting more than 400 community partners and programs focused on advancing education, promoting community sustainability, and encouraging employee volunteerism.
The 2025 funding spanned nearly 30 countries and emphasized STEM education, skilled trades training, and environmental stewardship. The company said its community engagement strategy aims to foster the next generation of innovators and skilled professionals in coatings and manufacturing while empowering employees to give back to causes important to them.
A major highlight of the year was the 10-year milestone of PPG’s Colorful Communities program. In 2025, 43 projects were completed across 23 countries as part of the anniversary celebration. Since the program’s launch in 2015, more than 33,300 PPG employees and community volunteers have completed 635 projects, positively impacting over 10.3 million people in more than 50 countries.
To mark the milestone, PPG completed 10 flagship Colorful Communities projects in strategic markets and awarded $1 million in celebration grants to 100 past and current program partners. The company also extended the Colorful Communities initiative for another decade, committing $15 million to the program through the next 10 years.
In addition, PPG directed $9.8 million toward building the next generation of leaders in STEM and skilled trade fields, as well as environmental stewardship. As part of these efforts, 10,000 STEM resource kits were distributed to schools and educational facilities across the U.S.
The company also supported hundreds of young professionals at EuroSkills Herning 2025 as the official competition partner and main skill sponsor for the Painting and Decorating category, providing high-performing products, technical expertise and training to help develop the next generation of painting professionals.
In Pittsburgh, the PPG Foundation funded Bidwell Training Center’s Chemical Laboratory Technician program, equipping a new coatings materials science lab. In Sumaré, Brazil, PPG launched the fourth edition of its Girls in Tech initiative with Casa Hacker to empower young women to pursue careers in electronics, robotics, design and 3D printing. In Shanghai, PPG supported the China National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Work Skills Competition, providing students with hands-on skills advancement for technical career placements.
PPG also invested $2 million toward a broader $5 million commitment by 2030 to sustainability education, supporting organizations including the National Energy Education Development Program and the Foundation for Environmental Education.
Another $3.7 million was allocated to community sustainability and disaster relief efforts. PPG and the PPG Foundation contributed to organizations supporting emergency response following natural disasters and extreme weather events, including wildfires in Los Angeles, as well as social service and community development initiatives addressing emerging global needs.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PPG operates in more than 50 countries and reported net sales of $15.9 billion in 2025, serving customers across construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets and aftermarkets.
