By Amit Chowdhry • May 4, 2026

Praana Group has completed its acquisition of Multi-Chem, which will now operate as Sterling MultiChem within the company’s Sterling Specialty Chemicals platform. The acquisition brings together Sterling Specialty Chemicals’ expertise in specialty chemical manufacturing, polymer technologies, and advanced surfactant systems with Multi-Chem’s field service capabilities, creating an expanded platform for supporting oil and gas operators with high-performance chemical solutions across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. Multi-Chem has built a strong presence in oilfield chemicals through application-driven programs addressing drilling, completion, production, flow assurance, corrosion and scale management, water treatment, and process optimization. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Praana Group is a diversified multinational business group in specialty chemicals and advanced materials whose portfolio also includes Galata Chemicals, Artek Surfin Chemicals, and 3B Fibreglass. The acquisition of Multi-Chem extends the group’s energy-sector capabilities and geographic reach at a time when oilfield operators are demanding more integrated chemical programs and technical support from suppliers able to serve complex operating environments across the full energy value chain. Sterling Specialty Chemicals will maintain operational continuity for Sterling MultiChem as integration progresses, with both teams continuing to support existing customers while leadership identifies opportunities for technology development and operational synergies.

Vice Chairman Vishal Goenka framed the deal as aligned with Praana Group’s long-term strategy of strengthening its global specialty chemicals platform through technology leadership, manufacturing excellence, and strong customer partnerships. Multi-Chem’s field-driven solutions and Sterling Specialty Chemicals’ manufacturing scale are designed to be highly complementary, with the combined entity positioned to deliver broader geographic coverage and deeper application expertise to energy sector customers managing increasingly complex operational challenges. Customers are expected to benefit from an expanded portfolio of specialty chemical technologies and stronger technical support across the energy sector.

The transaction reflects continued consolidation in the specialty chemicals sector as companies seek to build integrated platforms capable of serving large energy operators across multiple chemical application areas. For Praana Group, the addition of Multi-Chem’s established oilfield chemicals business and field service network provides immediate access to a customer base and set of capabilities that would have taken years to build organically.
