Precision Strategies Acquires Firehouse Strategies To Create Public Affairs Firm With 125 Professionals

By Amit Chowdhry • Mar 7, 2026

Precision Strategies announced it has acquired Firehouse Strategies, combining two Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firms founded by veterans of presidential campaigns.

The deal brings together firms that previously operated on opposite sides of major political campaigns, expanding Precision’s capabilities in strategic communications, digital engagement, and grassroots influence.

Following the acquisition, the combined organization will have 125 professionals and access to a nationwide network of hundreds of “grasstops” operatives — civic leaders, local officials, and community influencers who help shape opinion at the local level. The firms said the integration will strengthen their ability to run high-stakes public affairs campaigns for Fortune 50 companies, international nonprofits, and major advocacy organizations.

Precision Strategies was founded in 2013 by senior leaders of President Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns. Firehouse Strategies was founded by veterans of Senator Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign along with Democratic strategist Ray Glendening. By bringing the firms together, Precision said it will expand bipartisan expertise while offering clients a broader suite of services.

The combined company will provide integrated capabilities spanning AI-powered data and insights, digital platform management and engagement, paid media services, creative production, crisis communications, and Firehouse’s signature nationwide influencer mobilization program.

Precision said its leadership structure will remain unchanged. Stephanie Cutter will continue as Acting CEO and Managing Partner, while Teddy Goff will remain Chief Growth Officer. Firehouse co-founder Alex Conant will join Precision as Senior Partner and Ray Glendening will join as Partner.

The firms will maintain Firehouse as a conflict subsidiary alongside Precision’s existing subsidiary Renegade while completing full integration in the coming months.

Precision’s client roster spans sectors including healthcare, technology, finance, crypto, retail, sports, nonprofits, and industry associations. Both companies have experience supporting complex public affairs efforts involving corporate reputations, public policy, and large-scale communications campaigns.

Abry Partners, a minority investor in Precision, served as financial advisor to Precision in the transaction. BrightTower, a New York-based investment banking and M&A advisory firm, served as exclusive financial advisor to Firehouse Strategies.

KEY QUOTES

“Alex and his team built something rare — a firm that actually delivers. Firehouse doesn’t just run campaigns; they move people, change minds and win the big fights. I’ve watched what they’ve built for a decade and am thrilled to bring our teams together to give clients the firepower, creativity and reach they need to compete. We’re not tweaking what public affairs looks like — we’re rewriting it.”
Stephanie Cutter — Acting CEO And Managing Partner, Precision Strategies

“Two firms from opposing trenches in presidential politics — and now we’re combining forces. In today’s environment, clients can’t afford an agency that only works one side of the aisle or doesn’t have a diverse arsenal of strategists and capabilities to help them win. They need bipartisan savvy and strategic depth. That’s what this is. When we founded Firehouse a decade ago, Stephanie was one of the first people that I called for advice because I was so impressed with what she and Teddy were building.”
Alex Conant — Co-Founder, Firehouse Strategies; Incoming Senior Partner, Precision Strategies

“Our clients don’t come to us with easy problems. They come to us because the stakes are too high to get it wrong — in the court of public opinion, in statehouses, in the press, and online. Adding Firehouse’s 50-state reach and sophistication to everything we’ve built means we can go bigger, move faster and deliver outcomes our clients need.”
Teddy Goff — Chief Growth Officer, Precision Strategies
