Precision53 (P53), a luxury U.S.-based golf equipment maker known for producing forged irons domestically, said it has acquired substantially all assets related to club machining, refinishing, and chroming from Arizona-based The Iron Factory. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The asset purchase includes heavy industrial equipment used for lathe turning, CNC machining, roll-stamping, polishing, and chroming, along with trade secrets and specialized production, process, and materials know-how. P53 said the acquisition supports its long-term strategy to bring more material processes in-house as it expands its vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities.
The Iron Factory, founded in 1974, built a reputation over five decades for premium club restoration and chroming work. The company performed white-label work for major golf brands and served thousands of amateur golfers seeking restoration of vintage and historic iron sets. Founder and CEO Jim Kronus said the deal follows his decision to retire and positions P53 to continue the legacy of the business.
P53, founded in 2014, began selling privately to select clients in 2020 and describes itself as the only operating golf equipment company that forges all of its irons entirely in the United States using certified U.S. steel. The company said its irons were the first in more than 20 years to achieve full domestic forging.
