Predium: Interview With Co-Founder & CEO Jens Thumm About The Real Estate Management Platform

Jens Thumm’s Background 

Could you tell me more about your background? Thumm said: 

“Predium was founded in 2021 by Mohamed Ali Razouane, Maximilian Körner and me in Munich.”  

“As the Co-founder and CEO of Predium, I lead our team and oversee the strategic direction of the company. My passion for innovation stems from my earlier experience as part of the pioneering team at remberg, where we broke new ground in AI for digital asset management. I enjoy engaging with industry leaders and often speak at conferences about the future of the real estate sector. Outside of work, I seek adventure – whether it’s conquering Himalayan passes in -35°C conditions or exploring trails on my mountain bike.” 

Formation Of The Company 

How did the idea for the company come together? Thumm shared: 

“After our time at CDTM, the renowned startup hub in Munich, we developed a criteria set consisting of 16 key factors, which we used to analyse different markets. I already had a background in asset management and understood the importance of combining impact and economic viability—an insight that became even clearer after witnessing melting glaciers in the Himalayas. Through numerous workshops and interviews, we identified pain points and developed solutions that make life easier for real estate portfolio companies and banks.”

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Thumm reflected:  

“Significant milestones, such as the successful completion of a €13 million Series A funding round, have been pivotal moments for the team. It is so special to celebrate such successes together.” 

Core Products 

What are the company’s core products and features? Thumm explained: 

“Predium is the Real Estate Intelligence Platform for sustainable capital decisions. Predium enables quick and easy calculation of ESG balances for buildings, as well as renovation roadmaps for CO2 reduction, including investment calculations. Our platform also offers automated CSRD reporting and reporting in accordance with established industry standards and customer-specific templates. Predium is a holistic solution for sustainable and economical real estate management.” 

“Key focus points are the digital twin and action planning functions. We can create a precise digital twin of all buildings in no time at all – even if data is missing. Predium enriches the existing database using AI and satellite images. In addition, our customers can simulate different investment strategies for individual buildings and their overall portfolio. The cost-benefit comparison helps them to make the right decisions at the right time.”

What challenges have Thumm and the team faced in building the company? Thumm acknowledged:  

“The real estate sector faces mounting regulatory pressures to reduce emissions, while also maintaining profitability. Predium addresses this by using advanced data analytics and AI-driven models to optimise investment decisions that align with both sustainability goals and economic outcomes.” 

Evolution Of The Company’s Technology 

How has the company’s technology evolved since its launch? Thumm noted: 

“The platform now incorporates AI and 3D modelling to enrich building data and enable quick ESG analysis without the need for on-site inspections. This evolution enhances both accuracy and scalability for clients.” 

Significant Milestones 

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Thumm cited:  

“Raising €13 million in Series A funding, which was led by Norrsken VC and supported by UVC Partners and others. Partnering with renowned clients like Deutsche Investment Group and Colliers.”

When asking Thumm about customer success stories, he highlighted: 

“Predium has successfully helped clients like Deutsche Investment Group and Baloise optimise their real estate portfolios by providing actionable insights into ESG performance and investment planning.” 

Revenue 

When asking Thumm about the company’s funding details, he revealed:  

“In our Series A round, Predium raised €13 million to expand its technology and enter new markets. While revenue figures are undisclosed, the successful funding highlights strong investor confidence.” 

Total Addressable Market 

What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Thumm assessed:  

“€55 billion annual recurring revenue (ARR) TAM for Europe.” 

Differentiation From The Competition 

What differentiates the company from its competition? Thumm affirmed:  

“Predium works with geospatial data and LiDAR imagery to augment existing data and digitally reconstruct buildings. With our AI-based data models, we generate digital twins that are 95% accurate to the real building parameters.”  

“On top, Predium uses AI for smart capital decisions. We can simulate optimisation scenarios for individual assets and entire building portfolios at the touch of a button. Predium calculates costs, subsidies and potential savings. With Predium our customers can make the right investment decisions faster – thanks to advanced technology.” 

Future Company Goals 

What are some of the company’s future goals? Thumm emphasized: 

“We are already expanding into new markets and will further develop our technology to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and help our customers make smart capital decisions.”
