Premier Fence, a provider of fencing, guardrails, gates, and access control services across New England and a portfolio company of Harkness Capital Partners, has acquired SecurityWorks, a perimeter security services company headquartered in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The transaction marks a strategic expansion for Premier Fence as it aims to strengthen its capabilities and regional presence in fencing and access control solutions.
SecurityWorks, led by Founder and CEO John McGovern, traces its origins back to 1876 and has built a reputation across New England for delivering full-service perimeter security solutions. The company manages a wide range of project components, including site work, fencing installation, gate automation, electrical wiring, and access control system programming.
Through the acquisition, Premier Fence intends to expand its operational scale and technical capabilities while continuing to serve commercial, industrial, and residential customers throughout the region. SecurityWorks’ established customer relationships and technical expertise are expected to complement Premier Fence’s existing services, enabling the combined platform to pursue more complex projects and provide enhanced value-added services.
Premier Fence, based in Canton, Massachusetts, provides installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance services for commercial fencing and gate systems, with a focus on technically complex projects and long-term service relationships.
The company is backed by Harkness Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm focused on lower middle-market service-oriented businesses. Harkness targets platform investments in companies generating between $5 million and $15 million of EBITDA and works closely with management teams to drive operational growth and long-term value creation.
SecurityWorks will continue operating under its existing leadership as part of the Premier Fence platform while leveraging the resources, operational support, and scale of the broader organization.
