Prisma Photonics, a deep-tech company transforming existing optical fiber networks into large-scale, real-time monitoring systems for power grids and security infrastructure, announced the close of an oversubscribed $30 million growth round, bringing its total funding to $80 million. The funding round was led by Protego Ventures, with participation from Adara Ventures, the investment arm of a leading Latin America Transmission Operator, and continued backing from Insight Partners, Chione Switzerland, and SE Ventures, the venture arm of Schneider Electric.
The funding will accelerate Prisma Photonics’ expansion across the United States, Europe, and Latin America, where utilities are investing heavily in modernizing and securing critical infrastructure amid growing renewable integration challenges. The company’s Hyper-Scan Fiber-Sensing™ platform converts existing fiber-optic cables into distributed sensor networks capable of monitoring thousands of kilometers of infrastructure with meter-level precision.
Using advanced artificial intelligence (AI), Prisma Photonics’ platform can detect, classify, and localize real-world events such as intrusions, grid congestion, wildfire threats, or pipeline anomalies—all without installing additional sensors. The system’s machine learning algorithms continuously improve as more data is gathered from diverse deployments, creating a network effect that enhances detection accuracy and scalability over time.
The company’s solutions are already deployed across thousands of kilometers of critical assets managed by 15 Tier-1 Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in the U.S. and Europe. Prisma Photonics has emerged as a trusted partner for utilities, governments, and security organizations seeking advanced visibility and resilience across their infrastructure portfolios.
The new investment will be used to scale commercial operations, advance product development, and strengthen Prisma Photonics’ footprint in emerging markets. The company’s growing presence in Latin America reflects rising demand from utilities seeking to balance the dual pressures of renewable integration and grid modernization.
Founded in 2017, Prisma Photonics is led by CEO Dr. Eran Inbar and is headquartered in Tel Aviv, with additional offices in the United States and Europe. The company’s mission is to make global infrastructure safer, smarter, and more resilient by harnessing AI and optical fiber technology to deliver actionable intelligence in real time.
