Promera has acquired Formula Facilities Services Ltd. and Critical Area Cleaning Ltd., establishing a data center services platform across the United Kingdom and Ireland and expanding its international presence into Europe.
Promera, which is backed by Angeles Equity Partners, provides mission-critical services to hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data center customers. Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Formula and Critical Area Cleaning, or CAC, provide complementary contamination-control capabilities spanning data center construction, commissioning and ongoing operations.
The acquisitions expand Promera’s ability to support customers across the full data center lifecycle and come as hyperscale operators continue investing in AI and cloud infrastructure across Europe and other international markets.
Formula specializes in contamination-control and critical-environment maintenance services for operational data centers.
The company has established long-term relationships with colocation providers and facility-management customers.
CAC focuses on specialized contamination-control services before and after the construction of new data center facilities.
The company works with Tier 1 general contractors across hyperscale and colocation construction sites, with a particular focus on white-space maintenance and contamination control.
Together, the businesses establish Promera’s UK and Ireland operating platform.
The acquisitions follow Promera’s expansion into Asia through its acquisition of Data Clean Asia in Singapore.
With the additions of Formula and CAC, Promera now has regional capabilities across North America, Europe and Asia.
The geographic expansion is designed to help Promera serve data center customers whose infrastructure footprints increasingly span multiple international markets.
As data centers become larger and more densely packed with computing equipment, contamination control has become increasingly important for maintaining equipment reliability, performance and uptime.
That issue has become particularly relevant as artificial intelligence infrastructure drives higher computing densities and increasingly complex data center environments.
Promera also appointed Jim Harding as Managing Director, International.
Harding will lead the company’s international operations and oversee additional growth across Europe and Asia.
He has served on Promera’s Board of Directors for approximately 18 months and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across data centers, digital infrastructure and commercial real estate.
Harding most recently served as Managing Director for Europe at Colovore, a high-density data center company specializing in liquid-cooled infrastructure for AI workloads.
At Colovore, he led the company’s entry into the European market.
Previously, Harding spent approximately a decade at CBRE and ultimately served as Global President of Data Center Solutions.
In that position, he led a global data center facilities services business supporting critical-environment operations across more than 700 facilities in 50 countries.
Formula owner and Managing Director Martin Glennon and CAC owner and Business Development Director Jack Rowley will join Promera following the acquisitions.
Both executives will continue leading their respective operations and report to Harding.
Promera provides technical services across the data center facility lifecycle, including contamination control, critical-environment maintenance, white-space fit-out and airflow management.
The company has more than 45 years of experience supporting digital infrastructure environments.
Alston & Bird served as legal counsel to Promera on the transactions.
Portman Partners served as Promera’s buy-side advisor on the Formula acquisition.
