Prospera Financial Services has promoted Paul Keeton to chief investment officer, elevating an executive the firm said has been central to building its product platform and advisory offerings since joining in 2017.
Prospera, a Dallas-based boutique wealth management firm that supports a nationwide network of independent advisors, said Keeton will oversee all aspects of its investment services, including alternatives, fixed income and annuity offerings, and proprietary research. The firm said he will continue to lead its equity and fixed income desks while also developing custom models and product strategies.
Tarah Williams, Prospera’s president and COO, said Keeton’s expanded remit reflects his impact on the firm’s investment capabilities and the solutions its advisors use with clients. Prospera added that Keeton will maintain a hands-on approach, working directly with advisors to tailor strategies to client needs.
Keeton began his career in 1997 as an analyst at Dorsey, Wright & Associates and later became senior vice president. Prospera said he led the development of a range of investment solutions there, including guided models, exchange-traded funds, structured products, and managed account strategies, and has co-authored books on investing while teaching risk management practices to financial professionals for more than two decades. After 20 years at Dorsey, Wright & Associates, he joined Prospera as managing director of Investments & Advisory Solutions.
Prospera said it has more than $28 billion in assets under management and positions its service model around a 2.5-to-1 advisor-to-home-office ratio, with leadership that emphasizes advisor feedback.
