Prosperity Life Group has appointed insurance executive Rona Guymon as President, Retail Life and Annuity, a newly created role focused on expanding the company’s retail life and annuity franchise.
Prosperity said Guymon will lead retail distribution and oversee national accounts and marketing, while also driving product competitiveness and new business priorities to increase market share. She will report to CEO Michael Ferik.
Guymon joins from Nationwide, where she served as Senior Vice President of Annuity Distribution, overseeing annuity distribution across channels, including broker-dealers, banks, independent marketing organizations, registered investment advisors, and technology platforms. Prosperity said her team implemented structural changes to improve efficiency and exceeded sales goals.
Before Nationwide, Guymon spent 13 years at Protective Life in a series of senior roles spanning business development and sales leadership, including Vice President of Business Development, National Sales Manager, Divisional Sales Manager, and Regional Wholesaler. Prosperity said her background includes experience across marketing, operations, training, and sales for mutual funds, annuities, and life insurance.
Prosperity also highlighted Guymon’s industry profile and community involvement, noting she is a frequent conference speaker and an advocate for inclusion and belonging in financial services. She serves on the boards of 6Stride and St. Mary’s Food Bank.
