Pulsar International has acquired a controlling interest in Istanbul-based Navee Technology, forming a new operating entity, Pulsar Türkiye, as the satellite communications provider expands its commercial maritime footprint and adds deeper local coverage in Türkiye.
Pulsar said the deal advances its “Global Network, Local Offices” strategy by pairing its global managed connectivity platform with Navee’s on-the-ground installation, service, and marine electronics capabilities across a strategically important shipping corridor.
Navee Technology, which has operated in the region for more than a decade, provides connectivity, IT management and digital solutions for commercial maritime customers, including satellite connectivity services and Starlink Maritime installations, along with bridge electronics, navigation systems, and fleet management software. Pulsar said the combination is intended to strengthen its ability to deliver integrated, end-to-end maritime solutions to ship owners, shipyards, offshore operators, and cruise lines operating in Türkiye, the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Black Sea.
As part of the transaction, Volkan Kalin will continue to lead the business as managing director of Pulsar Türkiye and will retain a significant ownership stake. Pulsar said keeping Kalin in place supports continuity for customers and employees while preserving Navee’s regional relationships and technical expertise. The company also highlighted Istanbul’s role as a global shipping hub and a crossroads between Europe and Asia as a key rationale for establishing a larger local base for maritime services.
Pulsar provides satellite communications products and services spanning voice, data, and IoT offerings across commercial maritime, agri-tech, enterprise, and government markets. The company said it operates globally with offices across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with headquarters in Hollywood, Florida, and European offices that include Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands, and now Türkiye.
