Pulsar Helium Names David Young As CFO And Director As Company Advances Topaz Project

Pulsar Helium has appointed David T. Young to its Board of Directors and as Chief Financial Officer, bringing in an executive with more than 25 years of investment, energy, infrastructure and corporate finance experience.

Dan O’Brien, who stepped down as CFO and director, will remain with Pulsar as Vice President of Finance.

Young’s experience spans capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, strategic planning and public-company governance.

Most recently, he served as Chief Restructuring Officer of Royal Helium, helping lead the company through a court-supervised process completed in 2025.

Previously, Young was a Principal at The Carlyle Group and a Director and investment committee member at Talara Capital Management.

Earlier positions included roles at Perella Weinberg Partners, Courage Capital Management and Houlihan Lokey.

Pulsar is adding that capital markets and helium-sector experience as it advances its flagship Topaz helium project in Minnesota and works toward potential development.

The company’s other assets include the Falcon project in Michigan and Tunu project in Greenland.

As part of the appointment, Pulsar granted Young 1 million stock options exercisable at C$1.30 per share for five years.

He also received 500,000 performance share units and 500,000 restricted share units.

The PSUs and RSUs will each vest in equal one-third installments on the first three anniversaries of the award date.
