Pulse Fund Closes $63 Million Inaugural Fund To Invest Across Climate, Infrastructure, Food And Mobility

Pulse Fund has closed its inaugural $63 million venture capital fund to invest in early-stage climate companies spanning the energy transition, infrastructure, food and agriculture, and mobility.

The firm is led by founder and Managing Partner Tenzin Seldon, a climate investor with approximately two decades of experience building and scaling climate technologies.

Pulse is building its investment strategy around the idea that major climate-related markets are interconnected rather than separate investment categories.

For example, improvements in battery technology can expand the addressable market for electric mobility, while advances in agricultural efficiency can influence where infrastructure capital is deployed.

Pulse believes analyzing those relationships can help it identify companies and markets that more narrowly focused investors may overlook.

Investors in the fund include Beneficient, C6 Partners, Pivotal Foundation, the Pritzker family, Veronica Chou, David Osborn and an Asia-based sovereign wealth fund.

Pulse has already invested in companies including Endera, Floodbase, InventWood, it’s electric, Mast Reforestation, Plantible, Twelve and Unravel Carbon.

The firm frequently leads financing rounds and takes board positions at portfolio companies, positioning itself as an active investor rather than primarily a source of capital.

Pulse also maintains a Space Act Agreement with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

Through the relationship, portfolio companies can access publicly available NASA Earth observation data, modeling capabilities and climate technology. Pulse is also using NASA science to develop tools for measuring and monitoring climate impact across its portfolio.

The $63 million close is notable for a first-time fund managed by a solo general partner and gives Pulse additional capital to pursue companies positioned at the intersection of multiple climate-related industries.

KEY QUOTES:

“We are at the beginning of the largest capital reallocation in history, and understanding how the energy transition, infrastructure, food and agriculture and mobility move together will define where that capital lands.”

“We back the founders who see those connections before the market does and build companies at the center of them.”

Tenzin Seldon, Founder and Managing Partner of Pulse Fund

“Pulse cleared more than a year of diligence, and our conviction only grew as the Fund did.”
