Punch Raises $2 Million From Gutter Capital To Expand AI-Powered Construction Intelligence Platform

Punch has raised $2 million from returning investor Gutter Capital to expand its AI-powered construction intelligence platform, which connects construction field teams with project management, operations, and accounting workflows.

The Atlanta-based company has developed software that allows superintendents and other workers to provide jobsite information by speaking into the Punch mobile app, sending photos, or forwarding emails. Punch can then apply a contractor’s internal rules to turn that information into daily reports, follow-up tasks, delay alerts, purchase orders, and other operational documents.

For example, a superintendent can verbally describe what happened on a jobsite and have Punch automatically prepare the daily report. Material requests can also be converted into purchase orders based on supplier pricing and company approval processes, reducing the need for employees to repeatedly enter the same information into separate systems.

Punch works alongside contractors’ existing estimating and accounting software. Customers can initially deploy the platform for workflows such as daily reporting, purchasing, or invoice review before expanding its use across additional processes.

The company said early customers have helped shape the platform around real-world construction workflows. Several existing customers have also invested in Punch alongside technology-focused angel investors.

One customer, Piedmont Drywall General Superintendent Dustin Gibbs, said Punch reduced the time needed to complete a daily report from approximately 30 minutes to three minutes. Across daily reporting, material orders, and payroll responsibilities, Gibbs estimates the platform saves him about 2.5 hours per day.

Punch is also positioning its technology as a way for contractors to preserve institutional knowledge as experienced construction employees retire. The platform can capture project knowledge, internal processes, approval rules, and best practices, creating a company-specific operational playbook that newer workers can access.

Founded in 2025 by Taylor Sandusky, Punch plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering and customer teams, continue developing the platform, and support adoption among additional contractors.

KEY QUOTES:

“I spent years managing construction projects, and I know how much of the day can disappear into paperwork. The people running these jobs already know what happened and what needs to happen next. They should be able to say it once and have that information move the work forward. That’s what we’re building with Punch.”

Taylor Sandusky, Founder Of Punch

“I’m saving that time by not having to stop and fill out forms and search through emails all day.”

Dustin Gibbs, General Superintendent At Piedmont Drywall

“Construction projects are complex, unique and they don’t happen sitting behind a desk. We are excited to partner with Taylor because he has lived the messy reality of construction and built Punch to harness the power of AI to meet users in the field where they are, which provides leadership with the real-time, project-level visibility required to make good decisions.”
