Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Suppression Systems, expanding its fire suppression and special hazard capabilities across Washington and Oregon.

Suppression Systems was established in 1976 and operates from offices in Tacoma, Washington, and Portland, Oregon.

The company designs, engineers, distributes and installs fire alarm, detection and suppression systems for customers throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Its customer base spans industrial, commercial, marine and high-end residential properties.

Suppression Systems has developed particular expertise in technically demanding environments including data centers, power plants and hospitals, where specialized fire detection and suppression systems can be critical to protecting equipment, operations and occupants.

The acquisition builds on Pye-Barker’s recent expansion in the Pacific Northwest and adds approximately five decades of special hazard fire protection experience to its broader national platform.

Suppression Systems’ existing technicians will continue serving customers across the region following the transaction, preserving local service capabilities while connecting the business to Pye-Barker’s larger operating network.

Pye-Barker provides integrated fire protection, life safety and security services across the U.S.

Its national platform has grown to more than 250 locations and approximately 9,000 employees.

The company’s capabilities span fire detection, suppression, alarms, security and other life safety systems, allowing acquired regional businesses to operate within a larger organization serving customers with multiple protection requirements.

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough represented Pye-Barker in the transaction.
