Qapita Expands US Presence As Co-Founder Lakshman Gupta Relocates To San Francisco And New York Office Opens

Qapita has expanded its presence in the United States as co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Lakshman Gupta relocates to San Francisco and the private markets technology company opens a new office in New York.

Gupta will be based at Qapita’s San Francisco office. The newly opened New York location gives the company an East Coast base alongside its West Coast operations as Qapita continues scaling its U.S. business.

The expansion follows a period of increased investment by Qapita in the U.S., including its $26.5 million Series B funding round and the launch of fund administration capabilities.

With Gupta now based in San Francisco and a second U.S. office operating in New York, Qapita is positioning its leadership and operations closer to the venture capital, private equity, and startup communities it serves across the country.

Qapita currently operates from San Francisco and New York in the U.S., along with its Singapore headquarters and offices across India and Indonesia. The company expects to continue expanding its U.S. workforce across product, engineering, and client services.

Qapita develops systems of record and agentic technology for private markets. Its equity management platform supports private companies with cap tables, employee equity records, stock plans, liquidity programs, and shareholder workflows.

The company’s fund administration platform combines domain-specific AI agents with human experts responsible for service delivery and accountability. Qapita serves private companies, private market funds, and investors globally.

Qapita raised its Series B in 2025 in a round led by Charles Schwab Corporation. Other investors in the company include Citibank, MassMutual Ventures, Cercano, Endiya, East Ventures, Nyca Partners, and Analog Partners.
