QBit Semiconductor announced the acquisition of a 60% stake in Singapore-based SinChip Technology, expanding its ASIC design services capabilities and strengthening its presence in high-growth markets, including Edge AI, high-performance computing, optical communications, and automotive semiconductors.

The transaction, completed on June 5, gives QBit operational control of SinChip, which will be integrated into the QBit Semiconductor group. The combination is expected to create synergies between QBit’s high-performance system-on-chip platforms and SinChip’s expertise in advanced semiconductor technologies.

Headquartered in Singapore, SinChip specializes in IC logic verification, physical design, and advanced technology adoption services. The company employs approximately 130 engineers and has extensive experience with advanced process nodes including 3nm, 5nm, and 7nm technologies, supporting high-end ASIC development and volume production.

QBit has traditionally focused on intelligent image processing, precision motion control, post-quantum cryptography security architectures, and high-precision SoC integration. Its technologies are widely used in multifunction printers, commercial imaging equipment, and related printing applications. The company is now extending these capabilities into customized chip development to address increasing demand for ASIC solutions.

Following the acquisition, QBit will establish a global research and development and technical services network spanning Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Singapore, and Vietnam. The company said the expanded footprint will enhance talent acquisition and cross-border project execution capabilities as it advances its goal of becoming a global provider of SoC design and comprehensive ASIC solutions.

QBit also noted that it is the first and only Taiwanese IC design company to receive direct investment from Arm.
