Qnity Launches Optivision Max CMP Pad Family For Next-Generation Semiconductor Manufacturing

By Shan Sadiq • Jun 10, 2026

Qnity Electronics announced the expansion of its chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) offerings with the introduction of the Optivision Max family of polishing pads, designed to support advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes.

As semiconductor devices continue to shrink and become more complex, manufacturers are increasingly relying on diverse CMP processes to achieve the precision required for reliable device performance. Qnity said the Optivision Max pad family is intended to provide tighter process control across these increasingly demanding manufacturing steps.

The new product family builds on the existing Optivision CMP platform and offers improved defect control and extended pad lifetime. According to the company, these enhancements are designed to support higher yields and greater process efficiency while improving surface quality, process stability, and reliability across advanced semiconductor nodes and device architectures.

The first commercial product in the new lineup, Optivision Max 8300, is now available globally for customer sampling and orders. The product can be configured in several ways, including integrated windows for endpoint detection, and is compatible with a range of CMP applications. Qnity said the pads can also be tailored to meet specific customer requirements.

The company noted that the growing complexity of advanced semiconductor nodes and evolving architectures is driving the need for higher-performing CMP solutions. The new pad family is designed to help manufacturers meet the growing performance and quality requirements of AI, high-performance computing, and advanced connectivity technologies.

Qnity provides materials and technology solutions across the semiconductor value chain, ranging from chip manufacturing solutions to high-speed electronic system connectivity. The company said its expertise in high-performance materials and integration supports the development of next-generation technologies.
