Qu has appointed Paul Rubin as Chief Product and Technology Officer to lead the company’s product and engineering roadmap as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and edge technologies reshape restaurant operations.
Rubin brings more than 30 years of experience developing and scaling restaurant technology platforms. He founded Brink POS, one of the restaurant industry’s early cloud-based point-of-sale systems, and later helped guide product strategy at PAR Technology.
At Qu, Rubin will oversee the continued development of the company’s unified restaurant technology platform and help advance its vision for connected, AI-enabled operations.
The company serves enterprise quick-service and fast-casual restaurant brands seeking to simplify their technology infrastructure and connect ordering, payments, guest data and operational systems.
Rubin’s appointment comes as restaurant operators increasingly explore AI and edge computing to improve efficiency, personalize customer experiences and make faster operational decisions.
Qu said its strategy focuses on reducing complexity rather than adding more disconnected technology to restaurant environments.
Throughout his career, Rubin has worked with major restaurant and retail brands, including Starbucks, Jack in the Box and Kinko’s, helping them modernize operations across complex store networks.
His experience spans cloud-based point-of-sale systems, enterprise software development, product strategy and the deployment of technology across large franchise and corporate restaurant organizations.
Rubin joins Qu as the company expands its recently launched Intelligent Commerce Platform.
The platform is designed to help restaurant brands connect their technology systems, streamline operations and reduce the cost and complexity associated with implementing AI.
Earlier in 2026, Shake Shack, Roy Rogers and Bahama Buck’s selected Qu’s platform to modernize point-of-sale systems, digital ordering, kitchen operations and payment capabilities.
By consolidating these functions into a single platform, Qu aims to provide restaurant brands with more consistent operational data and actionable intelligence across each customer transaction.
As Chief Product and Technology Officer, Rubin will work to translate advances in AI, cloud infrastructure and edge computing into practical tools that address restaurant operators’ day-to-day challenges.
