Madrid-based private markets investor Qualitas Funds has launched its first dedicated secondaries vehicle, Qualitas Secondary Opportunities I, with a hard cap of €100 million. The new fund will focus on the European lower mid-market, including the United Kingdom, and marks the firm’s expansion into the secondaries segment of private equity. The strategy is designed to complement the firm’s existing investment programs, which include fund-of-funds strategies, co-investment vehicles, and NAV financing funds.
According to the firm, the new vehicle is intended to broaden the range of capital solutions it offers to investors while enabling participation across different stages of a private equity fund’s lifecycle. By adding secondaries capabilities, Qualitas Funds aims to address financing needs that may arise throughout a fund’s lifespan.
Qualitas Secondary Opportunities I will pursue a flexible strategy across the secondary market. The fund plans to invest in limited partner stakes, GP-led transactions, and late primary commitments, enabling deployment across multiple transaction types and market environments.
The firm noted that combining these types of secondary investments can provide access to opportunities sourced from both investors and fund managers while potentially offering shorter return horizons compared with traditional private equity investments.
Qualitas Funds said the launch of the strategy will also benefit from the more than 15 years of experience in secondaries investing held by RCP Advisors, another strategy within Ridgepost Capital.
