QuantWare Appoints Bart Filius As Chief Financial Officer And Board Member

QuantWare has appointed Bart Filius as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 12, 2026, as the quantum processor company expands industrial production of its VIO quantum processors and grows its international commercial presence.

Filius will also join QuantWare’s Board of Directors. His appointment comes as the Delft, Netherlands-based company enters its next phase of growth following a $178 million (€152 million) Series B financing completed in May 2026.

QuantWare is also building KiloFab, an industrial-scale fabrication facility in the Netherlands designed to support production of its quantum processors. The company has expanded its commercial footprint to more than 50 customers across 20 countries.

Filius brings more than two decades of financial and executive leadership experience at high-growth and science-driven companies. He spent nearly nine years at Galapagos, where he held several senior positions, including CFO, COO and President.

During his tenure at Galapagos, Filius helped oversee the company’s expansion and financing activities, including its Nasdaq initial public offering and subsequent follow-on financings.

He also led the negotiation of Galapagos’ $5 billion research and development collaboration with Gilead Sciences.

Before joining Galapagos, Filius spent 13 years at Sanofi. His positions there included CFO of Sanofi Europe and Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, providing him with experience spanning corporate finance, capital markets, transactions and international operations.

Filius currently chairs the audit committee of ProQR Therapeutics, which is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker PRQR.

QuantWare said Filius’ experience helping build a technical organization into a global commercial-stage business aligns closely with the company’s own growth strategy.

The company is pursuing a capital-intensive strategy that combines long-term research and development with industrial manufacturing and commercial partnerships. QuantWare is focused on scaling quantum processor production and working with technology companies developing increasingly powerful quantum computing systems.

Its VIO technology is central to that strategy, with the company seeking to hyperscale quantum processors as the industry progresses toward larger and more commercially useful quantum computing systems.

Filius will be responsible for helping establish the financial infrastructure needed to support QuantWare’s continued commercialization, manufacturing expansion and global growth.

His appointment follows the company’s substantial Series B financing and the development of KiloFab, giving QuantWare additional financial and manufacturing capacity as it seeks to scale its technology and customer base.
