Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has appointed Sean Suber as a partner in its Chicago office, expanding its trial and appellate capabilities across complex litigation, class actions, product liability, and mass tort matters. Suber joins from Winston Taylor, where he was a partner in the firm’s Chicago office.
Suber has represented companies and individuals in significant litigation, including high-profile trials, appeals, and arbitrations across multiple industries.
His practice includes defending businesses against class actions involving false advertising, product mislabeling, and other consumer-facing claims.
He has secured dismissals and favorable resolutions in complex class action litigation and represented clients in product liability and mass tort proceedings.
His trial experience spans industries including agricultural biotechnology, aviation, and medical devices.
Suber has served as trial counsel in litigation involving allegations that a widely used agricultural product caused cancer.
He has also worked on litigation arising from aviation accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia, bringing experience in complex disputes involving multiple parties and significant liability exposure.
Additionally, Suber participated in trial teams involved in two defamation matters that resulted in settlements widely reported as among the largest in U.S. history.
His appointment strengthens Quinn Emanuel’s ability to represent clients in complex disputes involving established industries and emerging technologies.
The firm expects his experience in consumer protection litigation and product liability to be relevant to businesses developing new technologies, including artificial intelligence products.
