Raise, a workforce deployment company, has acquired Murmur, a technology-enabled supplier marketplace platform, in a deal aimed at helping enterprises better manage complex supplier ecosystems and strengthen contingent workforce programs.
Raise said the acquisition builds on an existing working relationship between the two companies, which have partnered on multiple client programs to deliver curated and compliant supplier solutions. By bringing Murmur in-house, Raise plans to deepen that collaboration and accelerate what it described as a more technology-enabled, vendor-neutral approach to supplier management.
The companies are positioning the combination as a response to common pain points in contingent workforce programs, including supplier sprawl, rogue spend, worker misclassification risk, lengthy RFP cycles, and inconsistent compliance with approved supplier lists. Raise said its Supplier Marketplace provides clients access to more than 6,000 sourcing partners through a single platform, with automation and visibility designed to improve procurement efficiency, onboarding, and measurement of supplier performance and program outcomes.
Founded in 2023, Murmur gained traction by applying a performance-led model to supplier marketplaces—helping enterprises attract, evaluate, promote, and retire suppliers based on results within active programs. Raise said Murmur’s capabilities will enhance its broader contingent workforce offerings by making supplier networks more dynamic and responsive, while reducing operational friction for hiring teams and suppliers.
Raise described its broader mission as simplifying sourcing and elevating the contingent workforce experience for clients, contractors, and suppliers. The company provides labor deployment services, including payroll support, specialized recruitment, supplier network management, and direct sourcing.
KEY QUOTES:
“Raise was built on the belief that every connection in the talent supply chain — client, supplier, and worker — should feel simple, transparent, and human. By bringing Murmur into Raise, we’re expanding that vision — giving enterprises and suppliers a single, trusted destination to connect, collaborate, and deliver outcomes together.”
Tim Masson, CEO, Raise
“Murmur began with a belief that self-managed contingent workforce programs needed a sidekick — a neutral partner to help build a more dynamic, flexible, and responsive supplier network. Bringing Murmur into Raise is a natural next step. Raise is committed to shaping the future of contingent workforce management, and their ecosystem is exactly where a supplier marketplace can have the most impact. I’m excited to see Raise help organizations strengthen supplier relevance, reduce friction, and deliver better outcomes for hiring leaders, suppliers, and candidates.”
