RaisingThem.com: Social Network For Parents

By Amit Chowdhry • Oct 17, 2006

“Let’s face it: having children is the easy part. Raising them? That’s the challenge!” states the homepage of RaisingThem.com.  RaisingThem has just been launched for public beta testing.  This social network is tailored toward parents. RaisingThem encourages parents to interact and learn from each other to overcome difficulties of raising children.

RaisingThem is to be used as a focal point to find babysitters in the area, sell items through the classified sections such as old toys, share thoughts on the Parenting Notebook, and connect with other family, friends, co-workers, and teachers.  There are numerous groups that parents may participate in such as Book Clubs, Culture & Community, Religion & Beliefs, Business & Entrepreneurship, Nutrition, and Pregnancy & Birth.  RaisingThem will also enable users to create events.  RaisingThem users can create profiles and also use the internal mailing system.

Vero Alaimo founded RaisingThem.com and MyPlaydate.com.  MyPlayDate.com is a network created for parents to find other parents around the area to build a rapport with and help their children find new playmates. RaisingThem is based in Brooklyn, NY.
