Raymond James Financial Services announced that financial advisors Michael Compiano and Dan Porter have joined its independent advisor channel from Commonwealth Financial Network, where they managed more than $400 million in client assets.
The advisors operate as Two Oaks Wealth in West Des Moines, Iowa, focusing on comprehensive financial planning, retirement-focused guidance, and long-term wealth counseling for individuals and families. They are joined by registered financial assistant Shelly Kooiker and office manager Meghan Workman.
Raymond James said the move reflects continued momentum in its independent channel as advisors seek scale, resources, and flexibility while maintaining autonomy in serving clients. Raymond James Financial Services is part of Raymond James Financial, which reported approximately $1.80 trillion in total client assets as of January 31, 2026.
Porter brings more than three decades of experience in retirement planning, investment strategy, and life transition guidance. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Iowa State University and holds the CFP designation.
Compiano began his financial services career in 1987 and holds a bachelor’s degree in insurance from the University of Iowa. He also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Life Underwriter, and Retirement Income Certified Professional designations.
