Raymond James: $800 Million Advisor Team Joins Independent Channel

Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS), the independent advisor channel of Raymond James Financial, has welcomed a six-advisor team managing more than $800 million in client assets. The group joined from Commonwealth Financial Network and will operate as OakWood Financial Services in Rochester, New York.

The team includes Mike McNaughton, Dan Schmitz, Greg Schuler, Traci Lewis, Jeff Santillo, and John Woodworth. They collectively serve a broad client base, including high-net-worth families and individuals, business owners, and retirees.

OakWood Financial Services was founded by McNaughton in 1999, following his career in financial services, which began in 1990. Schmitz has advised clients since 1996 and helped build the practice alongside McNaughton. Both advisors bring decades of experience and hold multiple professional designations in financial planning and wealth management.

Schuler brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, focusing on comprehensive financial planning with an emphasis on risk management, income distribution, and tax planning.

Lewis specializes in retirement and pre-retirement planning, incorporating tax considerations into financial strategies. Santillo, who entered the industry in 2021, focuses on planning-first strategies designed to help clients align long-term goals with measurable financial plans. Woodworth began his career at J.P. Morgan in 2023 and brings experience in retail banking, which has shaped his relationship-focused approach to planning and client communication.

As of Jan. 31, 2026, the company reported approximately $1.80 trillion in total client assets.
