Raymond James announced that it will acquire a majority stake in GreensLedge Holdings LLC, a boutique investment bank recognized for its leadership in structured credit and securitization. Founded in 2008, GreensLedge has built a strong reputation for combining strategic advisory services with expertise in collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), rated feeders, collateralized fund obligations (CFOs), asset-backed securities (ABS), and debt offerings.
The deal formalizes a long-standing partnership between the two firms grounded in shared values, mutual respect, and a joint commitment to client success. Under the terms of the agreement, Raymond James will acquire a majority ownership position, while Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group, Inc., a long-time GreensLedge partner, will retain a minority stake. The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
The acquisition will integrate GreensLedge’s specialized capabilities in structured finance with Raymond James’ expansive fixed-income distribution and trading platform. This combination is expected to enhance the firm’s ability to deliver sophisticated solutions to institutional clients while deepening its footprint in key segments of the capital markets.
GreensLedge is led by managing partners James “Jim” Kane, Brian Zeitlin, Lesley Goldwasser, and Ken Wormser, all of whom bring decades of experience in structured products, advisory services, and capital markets innovation. The firm’s nimble and capital-light structure enables it to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and focus on high-engagement opportunities. This approach aligns closely with Raymond James’ entrepreneurial culture and client-first philosophy.
The partnership will also create new opportunities for collaboration across Raymond James’ broader financial ecosystem, including Raymond James Investment Management, Raymond James Bank, the Private Capital Advisory and Real Estate investment banking teams, and the Private Client Group’s ultra-high-net-worth services. In addition, the firm intends to explore further collaborations between GreensLedge and its existing partners at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group, expanding the scope of cooperation in global structured finance and distribution.
