Raymond James Financial has appointed longtime executive Kirk Bell as president of its Independent Contractor Division, effective April 1, according to an official company announcement. Bell, who has spent nearly 26 years at the firm, will also join the Senior Leadership Team and the Private Client Group Executive Leadership Team.
In his new role, Bell will lead efforts to deepen advisor partnerships and accelerate growth within the independent contractor channel, a key segment of Raymond James Financial Services. His appointment follows the departure of Shannon Reid, who stepped down in December after nearly two decades with the firm.
Bell previously served as division director for the independent contractor channel and has held multiple leadership roles across the organization. The firm emphasized his longstanding experience working with financial advisors and his understanding of the independent model.
Raymond James said the leadership transition is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its advisor-focused platform as competition intensifies across broker-dealers and registered investment advisor firms.
David Sisemore, who had been serving as interim president of the division, will return to his prior leadership role through the end of the fiscal year before transitioning into a consulting capacity ahead of his planned retirement in December.
Raymond James Financial, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker RJF, oversees approximately $1.80 trillion in client assets and provides a range of services, including wealth management, capital markets, asset management, and banking.
