Raymond James announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Clark Capital Management Group, a Philadelphia-based asset manager with more than $46 billion in discretionary assets under management, in a deal that the firm said will deepen its investment solutions and expand its reach with financial advisors across key distribution channels.
The deal is expected to close by the third calendar quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Following the closing, Clark Capital will maintain its brand and operate as an independent boutique investment manager within Raymond James Investment Management, the global asset management division of Raymond James Financial.
Founded in 1986 by Harry Clark, Clark Capital has built a business focused on wealth-oriented investment solutions for advisors and their clients, including custom multi-asset-class strategies, proprietary model portfolios, and ’40-Act mutual funds. The firm also maintains a high-net-worth service team that provides personalized guidance, including wealth planning services, positioning the group as an extension of an advisor’s practice.
Raymond James said the acquisition is designed to build on Raymond James Investment Management’s existing offerings by pairing Clark Capital’s portfolio construction capabilities and advisor-facing service model with Raymond James’ scale, distribution and operational support. The company characterized Clark Capital as a high-growth manager with a record of strong inflows.
The deal also adds another boutique to Raymond James Investment Management’s multi-boutique structure, which includes Chartwell Investment Partners, ClariVest Asset Management, Cougar Global Investments, Eagle Asset Management, Reams Asset Management, and Scout Investments. Raymond James said the structure is intended to provide centralized business and operational resources while enabling independent investment teams to maintain their distinct approaches and cultures.
Clark Capital will retain its leadership team, investment capabilities, and service model under the agreement, with the firms positioning the partnership as a way to support long-term growth while enhancing product innovation and advisor support.
Support: Raymond James & Associates acted as financial advisor to Raymond James, with Eversheds Sutherland serving as legal advisor. Evercore served as exclusive financial advisor to Clark Capital, with Paul Weiss as legal advisor.
