RE VC, a real estate technology venture capital fund manager, announced that Stephen Siderow has been appointed Senior Advisor and Operating Partner to the firm’s general partner.
In the role, Siderow will provide strategic guidance and work closely with RE VC leadership to help build, operate, and scale the firm’s fund management business. The firm focuses on investing in early-stage real estate technology startups and supporting portfolio companies with industry expertise and operational support.
Founded in 2022, RE VC targets opportunities created by technological innovation across the real estate ecosystem, including proptech, construction technology, and real estate finance. According to a McKinsey Global Institute analysis cited by the firm, automation and artificial intelligence applied to knowledge work could generate approximately $430–$550 billion in annual value globally across real estate, construction, and development.
Siderow is the founder and managing principal of Siderofsky Strategic Advisors, which advises investment managers, fintech companies, and other growth businesses. The firm focuses on financial services, alternative asset management, and technology companies.
He previously served as president and co-founder of BlueMountain Capital Management, an alternative asset management firm established in 2003, which grew to $23 billion in assets under management and more than 300 professionals worldwide during his tenure.
Through Siderofsky Strategic Advisors, Siderow currently advises a range of companies, including Allposit, which provides integrated digital platforms to the wealth management sector; NewVest, a company focused on passive index investing for private markets; and Barsys, a developer of AI-enabled cocktail machines.
RE VC was founded by Alon Gorbonos, who previously co-founded and managed DTI Holdings, a vertically integrated private equity real estate fund. Earlier in his career, Gorbonos worked at MIO Partners, McKinsey & Company’s internal investment office, where he helped establish a private equity fund of funds, and previously served as a strategic consultant at McKinsey & Company. He also served as an officer in the Intelligence Corps of the Israel Defense Forces.
Siderofsky Strategic Advisors said the appointment reflects the firm’s strategy of combining venture capital investment with experienced industry leadership to support the growth of emerging real estate technology companies.
