Rebar, a vertical AI platform developing the core operating system for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries, announced the closing of a $14 million Series A financing round. The funding was led by Prudence, with participation from Zero Infinity Partners, Founder Collective, Villain Capital, and Optimist Ventures.
The New York–based company is building an AI-powered platform to automate the processing of construction documents, such as blueprints and specification books. By extracting tens of thousands of data points from project documentation, the technology enables contractors and distributors to automate estimating and quoting workflows that have historically required extensive manual work.
Estimating is a critical but highly labor-intensive step in construction projects. Contractors often review hundreds of pages of architectural plans to generate job quotes, a process that can take hours or even days. Rebar’s platform is designed to dramatically reduce that timeline, allowing users to complete quotes in minutes while improving accuracy.
The company’s technology is already being used by multiple large enterprise customers and supports thousands of projects per month, less than a year after commercialization. By enabling contractors and distributors to deliver bids faster and at a lower cost, the platform helps them pursue more opportunities and improve win rates.
Rebar plans to use the funding to expand its operating system and develop additional agentic solutions that address more workflows across the HVAC value chain. The company also intends to expand into adjacent industries such as electrical and plumbing, while growing its geographic presence both across the United States and internationally.
Founded to address inefficiencies in construction quoting workflows, Rebar’s platform enables industry participants to spend less time on administrative processes and more time engaging with customers and pursuing new business opportunities.
KEY QUOTES:
“I spent years completing estimates by hand and have a deep understanding of this process that industry participants deal with every day. This is a pain point that previously seemed unsolvable with legacy technology, but leveraging our proprietary AI platform, contractors and distributors can spend less time buried in back-office work and more time with customers, winning new business.”
Evan Brown, CEO Of Rebar
“HVAC, electrical and plumbing are massive end markets that have historically had very little purpose-built technology and rely mainly on manual processes. By leveraging Rebar’s proprietary AI platform, these businesses are leapfrogging software and adopting a solution that is orchestrating and automating end-to-end workflows. This is orders of magnitude better than anything this end market has seen before and is both a cost saver and revenue generator. The Rebar team is perfectly positioned to capitalize on this opportunity with their mix of industry expertise and deep technical capabilities.”
