Rebel Audio announced the launch of a new AI-powered podcasting platform designed to simplify the creation, production, and distribution of podcasts, alongside the close of a $3.8 million seed funding round and the addition of television producer Mark Burnett as an advisor.

The Los Angeles–based company positions the platform as a streamlined operating system for podcast creators, aiming to reduce the technical complexity traditionally associated with recording, editing, and publishing shows. Rebel Audio describes its product as “the Canva of podcasting,” offering a user-friendly environment where creators can move from idea to distribution using AI-powered production tools.

The platform enables users to record, edit, and upload podcast episodes directly to major distribution platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. By integrating creation and distribution tools in one system, Rebel Audio aims to lower the barrier to entry for new creators while helping experienced producers scale their output more efficiently.

Podcasting has become one of the fastest-growing media formats over the past decade, with the global industry projected to reach $114 billion by 2030. Rebel Audio’s founders say the current tools used to produce podcasts have not evolved at the same pace as the medium itself, creating an opportunity for AI-driven infrastructure to modernize the workflow.

The company raised $3.8 million in an oversubscribed seed round within 30 days. Investors include Julie Gauthier, Benjamin Lurie, Jonathan Schulman, Dr. Armin Tehrany, Dr. Richard Firshein, and Launch Tennessee through its InvestTN equity fund, which focuses on supporting high-growth startups in the state.

Rebel Audio was founded by Jared Gutstadt, who previously launched music and podcast ventures, including Jingle Punks and Audio Up. The leadership team also includes Brian Edwards, former executive at MGM and DreamWorks; Patrice Choghi, who previously held leadership roles at MGM Studios, Televisa North America, and Mark Burnett Productions; and advisor Bill Hobbs of Vector Holdings and Epiphany Collective.

The company developed the platform in partnership with Lattice Partners, an AI consulting firm and product studio that works with brands and innovators to design and launch AI products.

Rebel Audio plans to open the platform through an invite-only waitlist during SXSW in Austin, targeting both new creators and established podcasters seeking faster production workflows and easier distribution.

KEY QUOTE:

“Podcasting has exploded, but the tools behind it haven’t evolved fast enough for the social first generation. Rebel Audio was born from a breakthrough in how AI can power the infrastructure podcasting has always needed, putting the focus back on ideas, voices, and seamless distribution. As the first native AI tool built for the podcast community, we are not only removing backend complexities, we are building the operating system that will empower the next breakout voices.”
