Recess: $1.75 Million (Pre-Seed) Raised To Help Parents Find Class Enrichments

Recess, a marketplace platform for parents to find and book enrichment classes, after-school care, and camps, has secured $1.75 million in pre-seed funding. Baukunst led this oversubscribed round.

Recess’ search platform is now live, with full booking capabilities set to launch this summer in Austin, followed by national expansion.

The company co-founders, Amy Kiska and Molly Morse, have a combined 25 years of experience in venture-backed startups at Recess. And Kiska’s background includes expertise in global business development and expansion, while Morse specializes in building and running marketplaces.

Both of them are mothers who have personally experienced the pain point they’re addressing. And Kiska built the company while in her third trimester and successfully closed funding immediately after the birth of her child.
