Red Oak And MirrorWeb Combine To Build End-To-End Financial Compliance Platform

Red Oak and MirrorWeb have entered into a definitive agreement to combine their compliance technology businesses into a single platform governing the creation, distribution, supervision and archiving of regulated financial communications. Financial terms and an expected closing date were not disclosed.

The combined company will operate under the Red Oak name and will be led by MirrorWeb CEO Romir Bosu. MirrorWeb will continue using its existing brand while the companies develop a unified customer experience. Red Oak CEO Dave Dutch will remain involved as an advisor.

Red Oak’s Compliance Connectivity Platform supports marketing content creation, AI-powered advertising review, distribution through its 4U platform and communications supervision. Its technology is intended to help financial institutions approve and distribute marketing materials while maintaining compliance controls and documentation.

MirrorWeb provides AI-enabled communications capture, supervision and archiving. Its Mira system examines messages across channels including email, iMessage, WhatsApp and LinkedIn to identify potential conduct and behavioral risks, route relevant communications to reviewers and create an auditable record of the supervision process.

Combining the platforms is intended to connect the entire communication lifecycle. A regulated firm could create and review content, distribute it to advisors, monitor subsequent communications and retain required records through a more unified technology environment.

The companies serve more than 1,550 regulated firms. Their customer base includes 17 of the world’s 20 largest asset managers, representing more than $62 trillion in assets under management.

Red Oak reports that its platform can produce 35% faster content approvals, 70% fewer compliance interactions and a 54% reduction in AI review time. MirrorWeb reports that Mira reduces false-positive alerts by 98% and communications review time by 80%. These are company-provided performance figures and may vary by customer and implementation.

Red Oak’s 4U partner content ecosystem connects with more than 300 wealth and investment management firms. The combined business plans to use that distribution network alongside MirrorWeb’s communications monitoring capabilities to help regulated organizations introduce new channels and expand marketing activity without operating separate compliance systems.

KEY QUOTES:

“Managing the volume, velocity, and variety of communications that regulated firms have to supervise and archive has only gotten harder over time, compounded by increasing pressure to get it into advisors’ hands, quickly.”

“When content compliance and communications supervision run on one platform, firms get something no other platform can offer: the entire communication lifecycle governed end-to-end, from creation to archive. We believe that is the future of how regulated firms will operate, and the opportunity our clients can now take advantage of.”

Romir Bosu, CEO of MirrorWeb and Incoming CEO of Red Oak

“Red Oak was built on a simple conviction: that compliance, done right, is not a constraint on growth. It is a growth engine.”

“Uniting that vision with more than fifteen years of compliance experience, we designed the Compliance Connectivity Platform to enable the world’s largest financial firms to move faster, reach more advisors, and scale with confidence. MirrorWeb and Red Oak have been critical partners to each other in delivering on that vision, enabling end-to-end governance of the communication lifecycle for an increasingly shared client base.”

“I’m proud of what we’ve done for clients together already and excited to see the combination of our platforms as the natural next step and growth driver for our clients.”
