Bregal Sagemount announced a strategic growth investment in Redgate Software to accelerate product innovation and expand the company’s global reach in database lifecycle management.
The investment comes as enterprises increasingly prioritize modern data infrastructure to support AI readiness and digital transformation. Redgate, which serves more than 200,000 professionals worldwide, provides tools and platforms that help organizations manage, automate, and govern database changes from development through production.
Founded in 1999 in Cambridge, UK, Redgate has grown into a global organization with over 500 employees across six locations. The company is now focused on evolving from a suite of database tools into a unified platform that integrates operational workflows, AI-driven automation, and security to manage the full database lifecycle in production environments.
With the new funding, Redgate plans to deepen its capabilities in AI integration, automation, and security, while expanding database coverage to meet evolving enterprise demands. The partnership helps the company support organizations building clean, governed, automated data environments to support AI adoption.
As part of the transaction, Bregal Sagemount will join Redgate’s board of directors to support the company’s next phase of growth. The deal underscores Sagemount’s strategy of backing founder-led software businesses with strong market positions and long-term growth potential.
Redgate’s solutions are widely used by enterprises, including 92% of Fortune 100 companies, to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure the security and reliability of business-critical data across the database DevOps lifecycle.
Support: Advisors on the transaction included LionTree and Goodwin Procter for Bregal Sagemount, and Shea & Company and DLA Piper for Redgate Software.
