Law firm Reed Smith announced capital markets and corporate lawyer Anne Peetz joined as a partner of the Global Corporate Group, based in Houston. Peetz was previously a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
Peetz has advised clients on complex capital markets transactions, SEC disclosure and compliance issues, and corporate governance matters. And her work includes the representation of issuers and underwriters in a wide variety of security offerings, including initial public offerings, follow-on and secondary offerings, public and private debt offerings, equity and convertible securities offerings, and PIPE financings. She regularly advises on the US securities law aspects of public M&A transactions, including going private transactions, spin-offs, tender offers, and de-SPACs.
Peetz’ arrival marks the eleventh lateral partner to join the Global Corporate Group over the last twelve months, including fellow capital markets lawyer Anthony Marsico in New York. Last month the practice announced the arrival for public and private M&A partner Teresa M. L. Tate to lead Reed Smith’s U.S. Emerging Growth / Venture Capital team.
Peetz earned a J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law and a B.A. from Creighton University.
